Jenelia Branson is a Licensed Professional Counselor from Jackson, MS, with over 20 years of experience in therapeutic counseling. Her educational background, drive, and expertise have laid a strong foundation for the work that she continues to do with Count It All Joy, improving clients' personal growth.
“I want to impact my clients by speaking into their lives.”
Jenelia received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi, and her Master of Science Degree in Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Because of her background in youth counseling, Jenelia has been recognized by the National Board for Certified School Counselors. She has also been recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors, which helps therapists improve patients' personal growth through different resources. Jenelia has earned her certification in Telemental Health, expanding her work's reach to virtual sessions. Along with Jenelia’s institutional background and experience, she credits her day-to-day clients as a learning opportunity. Over the years, she has contributed to the personal growth of countless individuals as they go through inevitable life transitions. Her clients help her see firsthand how the benefits of therapy help them through the changes in their lives.
“I do my best to learn what I can... to help someone with something new. I don’t oppose that, but I know that the path to personal growth is always changing.”
With a soft spot for youth, Jenelia has practiced teen counseling in schools, providing them with life transitions counseling to improve their personal growth. As the First Lady of Unique Life Church, Jenelia is also passionate about supporting clients who want to explore the benefits of therapy in both their personal and spiritual lives.
She is eager to help patients feel in control of their lives again. Her dedication lies in helping people navigate changes and transitions with guided progress tracking. Jenelia believes in seeking internal validation for personal growth and helps provide resources and tools to help patients regain that mindset. Jenelia has experience in multiple areas, including life transitions, marital counseling, and trauma counseling, all with the same goal of personal growth.
She specializes in helping patients focus on their needs to gain therapeutic benefits fully. Every session, Jenelia provides an opportunity for patients to express how they are feeling and what’s going on in their lives. Her approach to sessions is ideal for those looking for a calm and welcoming therapist to help guide them through the ups and downs.
Jenelia’s counseling style is pretty laid-back. She aims to educate all patients on how therapy can help by providing space for them to explore themselves thoroughly as they evolve. Her clients describe her as supportive, warm, and compassionate, with a great sense of humor. Jenelia’s sessions usually start with her asking, “What’s pressing?” to move forward with a tension-free and clear-minded conversation. Her background in trauma counseling influences her client-focused approach by prioritizing a goal-oriented healing plan. Whether she's guiding a client through life transitions counseling or educating them on the benefits of therapy, her process is centered on emotional honesty and structured progress.
To encourage more goal-oriented thinking and behavior, Jenelia uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her sessions. By using an assessment to understand her client's emotions and mental health, she meets clients where they are to help them move forward to where they want to be on their personal growth journey.
“With your active participation, honesty, patience, and commitment, things can and will get better.”
She loves helping patients push through their struggles and persevere by remembering these personal growth goals as they go on their journey. As they continue receiving therapeutic benefits under her care, Jenelia hopes that all her patients go into the new seasons of their lives prepared.
“God and my family.”
